This event brings together local government leaders and business professionals to explore opportunities for collaboration that drive community growth and long-term economic success. Through a series of discussions and networking opportunities, participants will gain insight into the challenges and priorities facing municipalities, as well as the resources and solutions businesses can offer.
The program will highlight real-world examples of effective public-private partnerships, provide a forum for sharing best practices, and foster meaningful connections between decision-makers and service providers. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how to work together to support infrastructure, financial sustainability, and community development initiatives within the region.
About our speakers-
Melinda Szabo serves as Assistant Borough Manager for the Borough of Dormont, where she supports daily municipal operations and strategic initiatives that enhance community services and engagement. In her role, she works closely with borough leadership, staff, and residents to advance key projects, oversee administrative functions, and promote efficient local government practices. Melinda brings a strong commitment to public service and community development, helping to foster collaboration and maintain Dormont’s high quality of life.
Olivia Policicchio is the Program Manager at Local Government Academy, where she manages the Municipal Intern Program and other key educational and technical assistance initiatives. Olivia is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh – Greensburg (‘23) with a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy. Olivia also serves on the Young Leaders Board at Women for a Healthy Environment. Outside of work, Olivia volunteers with Girl Scouts of Pennsylvania and enjoys ceramics.
