Portsmouth and Hampshire Art Society – Summer exhibition

The Portsmouth and Hampshire Art Society (PHAS) was founded over a hundred years ago in 1909 and the is the highlight of our year.

This prestigious annual art exhibition showcases work from local artists, in the beautiful setting of Portsmouth Cathedral. It runs from 22nd to 30th August 2026. It’s free entry, so why not come along and view exciting artwork for sale, from local artists and see the diverse styles and techniques of talented artists in your community.

The society also runs a every Thursday (term time) in Beckett Hall, opposite the Portsmouth Cathedral.

We have a varied programme of monthly demonstrations by established artists and occasional workshops with visiting tutors. It’s free for all members and just £3 for non members. For more information, please see our Programme of Events Page.

Jane Pooley the new chair of the Portsmouth and Hampshire Art Society invites everyone to come along to our weekly art sessions, as members can really benefit and enjoy the stimulation of working in the company of other artists.
