About this Event
As part of the Portsmouth 100 celebrations, The Menuhin Room will be opening its doors for a return performance of some of Portsmouth’s most notable classical musicians. This very special lunchtime recital will of course feature the room’s marvellous Model D Steinway Piano for what will be a fabulous classical variety programme including works by Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Elgar, Piazolla as well as contemporary items and new music "born in the City of Portsmouth". There will also be some “story telling” about those people who have contributed to Portsmouth’s classical music scene over the last 100 years
Musicians appearing include pianists: Kate Burrows, Narina Dalali, Amanda Fox, Karen Kingsley, Angelina Kopyrina, Andrew McVittie, Helen Morris, Valentina Seferinova, and Angela Zanders along with Rob Blanken (clarinet), Melanie White (Flute), Kate Ham (harp), Daniel Bennett (flute) and Sara Deborah Struntz-Timossi (violin).
This free entry recital will start at 1200 hrs and end at approximately 1345hrs (including a 15 minute interval). A retiring collection will be made at the end. Although the event is free entry, advance booking is recommended due to limited seating at the venue. Tickets can be booked in advance through Eventbrite or by contacting [email protected]
- The Lily & Lime Cafe will be open for light refreshments before and after.
