Materials: Supplies will be provided. If you have your own brushes we encourage you to bring them! A reference image will be provided by the artist.
What to Expect:
The genre of portraiture is as timeless as painting itself. The portrayal of the human face creates a deep psychological connection between the artist, the painting and the viewer. This intensity will be explored through acrylic paint with painter Manita Kaewsomnuk.
Over the course of a weekend, create a portrait with acrylic paint. Manita will provide a reference image to work with during the workshop. Throughout the workshop there will be live-demos, showing how to render specific details and effects such as eyes, nose, lips, and hair texture. Learn how to mix various skin tones convincingly and achieve likeness to your subject.
Day 1:
-Understanding basic human facial anatomy
-Learning how to draw facial structure and features
-Understanding anatomy of light-shadow, in order to create dimensional forms
Day 2:
-Learning how to paint with acrylic color
-Learning and practicing to create palate for human skin
-Bring home a finished portrait painting
