About this Event
Meet contemporary Queensland visual artist Judith Wright in conversation with Angela Goddard.
Judith Wright is an established contemporary visual artist who lives and works in Brisbane, Australia. She came to her work as an installation artist with a background in dance.
Judith’s practice, born from her early career as a dancer in the Australian ballet, is restrained and minimal. Her work, covering most media types from artist’s books so large the whole body is required to turn the pages, to installation and video work, resonates with an otherworldly quality.
This event will feature a screening of Judith Wright's interview from the James C Sourris Collection of Artist Interviews, followed by a Q&A session.
Portrait of an Artist is a series of events that brings to life the James C. Sourris AM Collection of Artist Interviews, where esteemed local artists and their craft is captured in State Library’s collections.
