About this Event
Warm morning sunlight shining upon a weathered sign-covered storefront. A large oak tree reaching up from the cracked sidewalk. Old neon signage gleaming through the night with missing letters like a child’s gappy grin. If one looks, these are some of the beautiful images found on a loud busy street heading to and from the heart of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. While most don’t pay attention to the deserted stripmalls and car dealerships lining the street, photographer Ben Harris decided to document the quiet beauty of Capital Boulevard. Starting as a way to pass the time during the pandemic, Ben began to capture hidden sights that go ignored by most people. Highlighting this unnoticed world and documenting the always changing hectic street became the basis of his on-going photo project—One Street City.
Join photographer and One Street City creator Ben Harris and media producer Arthur Earnest for the premiere of their 360° immersive short documentary- “Portrait of a Street—The Story of One Street City”. The film will be followed by a short Q&A by Ben and Arthur.
Please note the short film will begin looping at 11:00am with Q&A session at11:30am. A VR headset formatted version will also be available for viewing.
