A special opportunity to tour the Portrait Artist of the Year exhibition with Samira Addo, the winner of the competition in 2018.Samira Addo is a self-taught artist with a love of portraiture – portraits can engage attention, evoke emotions, and hold a level of relatability unlike any other genre. Her art often reflects themes she have a close association with, from moments with friends, to countries explored. Often, Samira tends to find inspiration in the subtleties of a facial expression or from the exploration of colour and construction. Currently, she has been working predominantly in oils, in a style that may be considered as contemporary realism.
The winner of Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2018, Samira Addo, is commissioned for a portrait of the actor Kim Cattrall, now hanging in the prestigious Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.
