Porto Seguro returns to the Charleston Library Society to play Brazilian samba, bossa nova, and choro genres: mellow music with a soulful vibe, like a great cup of coffee – and the band’s blend is Brazilian with upbeat American energy.
Jazz vocalist, Alva Anderson, has been Port Seguro’s headlining performer since 2020. Her soulful interpretations and captivating interpretations bring even more energy to the show than when the band last appeared at the Library Society in 2019. Other members include: Susan Conant on flutes, John Holenko on mandolin, Tom Noren on guitar, John Kennedy on bass, and Josh Hoover on drums.
