Phil brings a diverse mixture of influences to his singing and songwriting: years of garage band rock, folk clubs, choral singing, and piano studies with a jazz master. He works both within the established musical traditions and in unconventional tonal spaces. Artichoke has been his favorite venue for several years, for its intimate atmosphere and appreciative audiences.
---------------
Tom describes himself as a "late bloomer" singer-songwriter. He has been playing guitar since his teens and has also dabbled in banjo, ukulele, mandolin, and dobro. But the guitar has always been his true musical home. Back in his younger years he composed instrumental pieces for 6- and 12-string guitar in the style of artists like John Fahey, William Ackerman, Leo Kottke and Mississippi John Hurt. Tom's current songwriting draws from folk, Americana, and acoustic traditions to create intimate, honest songs that connect with listeners.
