About Voices of Ability (Disability Pride Month)
The Portland Film Festival's Indie Film Series is proud to present two films centering the voices of those with disabilities: Faye: An Interlude, a short film that follows Faye, a deaf dancer, and feature film Sign the Show, a documentary highlighting accessibility for the deaf community at live events.
About the films:
Short: Faye: An Interlude • Director: Cristian Paluso-Serrano
A deaf dancer reconnects with an old flame in this emotionally fueled silent film.
Feature film: Sign the Show: Deaf Culture, Access & Entertainment • Director: Cat Brewer
Sign the Show: Deaf Culture, Access & Entertainment brings together entertainers, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (HOH) community, and American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters to discuss accessibility at live performances in a humorous, heartfelt, and insightful way.
