About the Workshop
Spend an afternoon diving into three classic Blues styles—Drag Blues, Slow Blues, and Shuffle Blues. We’ll work on grounded movement, connection, musicality, and the stylistic nuances that make Blues dance feel incredible. Expect a mix of technique, exploration, and plenty of groove.
All levels welcome.
Schedule
12:00–12:30 — Warm-up & Groove Foundations
Arrive, settle in, and get your body moving.
12:30–1:45 — Drag Blues
Smooth weight shifts, glide, stretch, and grounded flow.
1:45–2:00 — Break
2:00–3:15 — Slow Blues
Blues vernacular movement, varied pulse and texture, and personal expression for dynamic conversational dancing.
3:15–3:30 — Break
3:30–4:45 — Shuffle Blues
Rhythmic footwork, pulse-driven patterns, and playful musical interpretation.
4:45 — Closing Circle
Reflections, questions, and takeaways.
