One-Day Balboa Immersion with Brenda Jean Russell

11:00–12:30 — Slow Bal, Laminu & Slicker
A silky, grounded start to the day.
We’ll explore slow-time Balboa, laminu flow, and slicker variations with a strong emphasis on grounded footwork, smooth weight transfers, and body organization to create effortless, gliding movement.
12:30–13:30 — Lunch Break
13:30–15:00 — Pure Bal & Ad-libs (Willie Desatoff Syllabus Focus)
Build your Pure Bal foundation the Desatoff way.
We’ll work through classic Pure Bal shapes, rotational pathways, and partner connection, followed by essential ad-libs from the Willie Desatoff lineage. Clear technique, clean lines, and timeless Balboa aesthetics.
15:00–15:30 — Break
15:30–17:00 — Ad-libs, Rhythms & Turning Variations
A creative session to develop your dance voice.
We’ll expand your ad-lib vocabulary with new rhythms, playful turning ideas, and variations that support personal style and musical interpretation. This class is designed to be accessible, expressive, and applicable to social dancing.
