PORTALS PANEL a discussion with Marcella Kroll and special guests (LIBRARY)
About this Event
Following the opening reception of PIECES AS PORTALS featuring new works by Marcella Kroll, we will meet in the PRS Library for Portals Panel - a discussion with Marcella Kroll, Lourdes Leiner, and Alysa Conger, and moderated by Naha Armády.
About the exhibition:
Pieces as Portals explores the intersection of the magical and the mundane. Through symbols, objects, and intention, the exhibition invites viewers into a space of transformation, expanded awareness, and the art of transmutation.
Marcella Kroll creates art that blurs the line between ritual and reality. Each work forms a threshold, turning everyday objects into tools for reflection, alchemy, and altered perception.

Marcella Kroll is an autistic artist, psychic medium, occult practitioner, and spiritual counselor with over 25 years of experience. Her work bridges art and the esoteric, rooted in ethical engagement with the unseen, cultural memory, and the reclamation of intuitive knowledge. Known for making mysticism accessible and inclusive, she fosters personal empowerment and transformation for diverse audiences, especially those who have long felt outside the margins or without a place to land.
Her artwork is held in the permanent collections of the Rhode Island School of Design Museum and Beth DeWoody’s Bunker Artspace, and she has presented at institutions including the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, the Lucas Museum, the Philosophical Research Society, and the Los Angeles Public Library’s long-running Tarot for Teens program. Her clients include notable figures and brands such as Versace.
Marcella is the author of Healing the Liminal, Priestess, and Magical Shielding (forthcoming 2027), coauthor of Tarot in Taschen’s Library of Esoterica series, and creator of multiple tarot and oracle decks, including Sacred Symbols Oracle, Nature Nurture Oracle, The Dreamers Tarot, The Roast Iconic Oracle, and The Initiates Oracle.
Lourdes Leiner is a Tucson, Arizona based author of four poetry collections, Stitches, Spit It Out, Spider's Silk, and Sabotage, and two novels, Sequence and In Vitro. Inspired by the Sonoran Desert, her work explores the intersections of place, culture, and community.
A featured Southwestern poet at the NYC Poetry Festival, Lourdes was the inaugural Writer in Residence at Catalyst Studios (2025) and a fellow of the University of Arizona Poetry Center. She is the founder of the Writing as Humanitarian Aid Anthology and works to expand access to literary arts through teaching, mentorship, and community engagement.
