SOULOLOGY: The Study of Soul
In the words of Grammy Award Winnimy Medearis Dixson, “Soulology is the study of soul.” This gathering is a late-night jazz lounge rooted in deep listening, improvisation, and cultural storytelling. A space where sound becomes a mirror and music becomes a pathway back to self.
If Soulology is the study of soul, then PORTALS is the practice of living it — creating immersive spaces where community, atmosphere, and music open pathways for remembrance and connection.
Through live improvisation and communal presence, guests are invited into self-exploration:
- What does your soul sound like right now?
- What are you ready to release?
- What is ready to be remembered?
For this BLOOM gathering, Soulology arrives as a collective — a living constellation of some of the Pacific Northwest’s most masterful musicians leading a renissance of creative expression. Their sound is fluid, soulful, and alive — inviting organic movement, release, and collective rhythm. Guests are welcome to dance, sway, or simply feel the music move through them as everyone becomes a living instrument.
Come to listen. To feel. To remember.
The portal is open.
Suggested one drink minimum.
