Forbidden Planet is excited to celebrate a new series of oneshots from Image Comics called The Horizon Experiment with an in-store signing featuring Pornsak Pichetshote, writer of the first issue The Manchurian. That's right. our good buddy Pornsak is coming back to Forbidden Planet NYC on Saturday September 28th from 5-7PM. We loved and supported his book The Good Asian and stoked to be the NYC shop to launch his newest project. More about The Horizon Experiment: The Manchurian - Written by Pornsak Pichetshote (The Good Asian, Infidel) with art by the legendary Terry and Rachel Dodson (Spider-Man, Harley Quinn), THE MANCHURIAN follows a Hapa (half Caucasian - Half Chinese) super-spy running covert missions in America for China, in the ever-escalating cold war between the two countries. The self-contained one-shot launches Image's ambitious THE HORIZON EXPERIMENT, rolling out a series of one-shots on a monthly basis designed to act as pilots for new series set in popular genres starring characters from diverse backgrounds.
More about the author - Pornsak Pichetshote is a Thai-American award-winning writer of comics and TV. He began his career as a rising star editor at DC's Vertigo imprint before overseeing DC Entertainment’s TV's department, helping spearhead what would become the CW’s Arrowverse of shows. As a comics writer, his work includes the books Infidel which was selected for NPR’s 100 Favorite Horror Stories of all Time, The Good Asian which won both Eisner and Harvey awards, Sandman Universe: Dead Boy Detectives for DC Comics, and Man’s Best for Boom Studios.
