12 PM - 3 PM Music is Medicine Workshop w/ Poranguí

Workshop Description:
Join Poranguí as we create a circle of rhythm, sound, and movement! Rediscover the first and most complex instrument known to humankind: yourself.
Together we will explore where voice and Spirit meet in improvisational dance. By embracing our unique voice and cultivating expression in a safe & celebratory container, we sing our souls and braid our voice together to amplify healing and beauty. No experience necessary, this is for all!
Poranguí, through his masterful improvisations and ancestral songs, creates a journey that transcends mere performance. His music, a rich tapestry of global rhythms, moves both body and spirit, serving as a portal to communal awakening. Decades of devoted study and a deep connection to his Brazilian, Mexican, and North American roots have imbued his live loops and ancestral melodies with the pulse of the Earth herself. Each note and rhythm resonates, connecting us across continents and cultures, inviting us into a diverse and healing musical heritage.
== Bios ==
Poranguí
Poranguí is a musician, healer, and producer, residing amidst the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona. Steeped in music and ceremony since birth, Poranguí was raised between the lands and cultures of his native Brazil, Mexico, and the Southwestern United States. Carrying on his lineage, he lives in service to pachamama as an artist and activist offering transformational music and healing experiences designed to awaken the body, mind, and soul.
Biko Casini
Biko Casini is a percussionist, n’goni player, and songwriter who is best known for his role as the backbeat of Rising Appalachia, and as a member of the West African contemporary duo Arouna & Biko.
Sisters of the Red Moon Temple
The Sisters of the Red Moon Temple are ritual keepers and ceremony holders honoring the wheel of the year in its sacred cycles. Together, we co-create transformational experiences through intention-setting, story and song. We draw upon the traditions of our earth-honoring ancestors to weave the wold ways into the new with reverence and celebration.
