Join the phenomenal Chevy Mikaere for a popping and locking workshop! Bringing his internationally renowned moves and skill from Tāmaki Makaurua to Ōtepoti - don't miss this opportunity to learn from one of the best! Chevy's workshop will begin with the foundations of popping & locking, and build up to a super fun and funky set. Good times guaranteed!
Chevy's workshop is open to all dancers and movers (14yrs - Adult).
We recommend wearing clothes and shoes that you can comfortably move in, and please bring a water bottle.
About Chevy:
Chevy Mikaere is a multi award-winning dancer, choreographer, and teacher. He is a member of the internationally acclaimed, Auckland based street dance company - Identity Dance Company. IDCO are world-renowned for their unique and futuristic style that pushes the boundaries of movement and creativity. They have won multiple titles internationally and nationally, including 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals at the World Hip Hop Championships.
Commercially, Chevy has performed for the NZ light suit company Vospertron in various countries such as Russia, Malaysia, Macau, and Australia. He teaches dance to people of all ages and abilities - from teaching at Choice Kid Day Care and Manukau Primary School through to adult beginners starting their dance journey. He is passionate about using dance to inspire and empower people and super excited to connect with the community on Ōtepoti!
