Step into a vibrant collision of color, culture, and nostalgia at The Strange & Unusual Gallery as artist Lynzi Scholz unveils POP XL—a bold celebration of pop art through the unique lens of Gen X.
Join us for the Opening Celebration of POP XL, on March 8th from 1 PM to 4 PM at The Strange & Unusual Gallery.
POP XL is a personal and artistic milestone, blending pop culture with nostalgia, memory, and artistic tribute. The exhibition showcases art prints, painted canvases, and mixed-media works featuring pop culture icons from the mid-60s to the late-90s, with a focus on 1975–2000—the years that shaped Lynzi’s creative vision.
The ‘XL’ in the title isn’t just a nod to pop culture’s larger-than-life presence; it also represents Lynzi’s 50th year (L is the Roman numeral for 50!). Inspired by her late mother, an illustrative artist who influenced her signature pop art style, her late mother-in-law Kathleen Arzaga, a gifted fine artist, sculptor, and ceramicist, and her late father Bob who supported her creative spirit. Lynzi’s work is a heartfelt tribute to both the legends of pop culture and the people who shaped her journey.
