About this Event
The Pop-up Book
Sunday, May 31, 2026, 11:15am - 6:00pm.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
This workshop, Pop-Up Fundamentals II: More Building Blocks, builds on the skills
in Pop-Up Fundamentals I: The Building Blocks. During this workshop, students will
prepare more parallel-fold models of increasing complexity, explore pop-ups with
movement, and be introduced to pop-ups made using angle folds. Workshop
participants will make a series of pop-up models, learn to embellish or combine them
to create new structures, and assemble them into a complete text block. The ultimate
result is a cased-in book of pop-up models that can serve as a reference for future
creativity. Materials and toolkits will be supplied; however, participants are encouraged
to bring their Pop-Up Fundamentals I models to the workshop for comparative purposes.
PREREQUISITES: BB1 or equivalent. Participants are expected to have already taken Pop-Up Fundamentals I: The Building Blocks.
MATERIALS FEE (paid to instructor at workshop): $15
