POP! Heights Park Grand Opening!

Join us for the festivities on Saturday, October 22 as we open POP! Heights Park – the first new community park along South Halsted in over 50 years.

POP! Heights Park will provide nearly 22,000 square feet of outdoor space for our Far South Side communities to enjoy, with a brightly colored walking and roller-skating ribbon, activity zones including a half-court basketball court and stage for performances, tree-filled seating areas, a community garden, vibrant new mural and more!

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

ADDRESS: 11227 South Halsted Street (between 112th and 113th Streets)

DETAILS: Join us for a day of festivities, including fall-themed family activities, live music, basketball, food and beverages from area restaurants, community vendors and more! This event is free to attend.

POP! Heights Park is presented by Far South Community Development Corporation in partnership with Sheldon Heights Church of Christ and is designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative. The park development is part of Far South CDC's larger vision, the Bringing Communities Back Initiative, which aims to repurpose nearly 1 million square feet of vacant and/or blighted areas into thriving community anchors that will spur economic growth and repopulate communities on Chicago’s Far South Side that have experienced decades of chronic disinvestment.
