Carrollwood Players Theatre Presents
Pop Goes America
Presented by Debbi Wooten
Written and Directed by Jim Russell
A CWP Mainstage Musical
June 18th - July 3rd, 2021
Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, Sundays at 2 pm
American history takes on a whole new sound in Pop Goes America! This lively and spirited musical uses hilariously (and sometimes movingly) re-written modern pop music to tell the story of our nation, from the pilgrims to the revolution, the civil war, and beyond.
A re-written Madonna song telling the story of the suffragettes? A re-imagined Adele song bringing the D-Day invasion to life? Thomas Jefferson singing about the Declaration of Independence to the tune of Mambo Number 5? This is Pop Goes America!
Featuring parodies of modern pop hits by these artists plus Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, Coldplay, the Black Eyed Peas, Eminem, Pentatonix, Christina Aguilera, ABBA, The Beatles, Counting Crows, Avicii and many more.
Presented with the support of the Arts Council of Hillsborough County and the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners.
Adults: $24.00 each
Student, Senior, Military: $21.00 each
Groups: 10 or more tickets, purchased in same transaction, all ages: $20.00 each.
