Dust off that cumberbund & puff up them oversized shoulder pads, the Ponsonby Prom is here!

Last winter saw a sold-out Piha Prom on the west coast, this year we're bringing the same sense of silliness to Westhaven and making all your awkward social dreams come true at the Ponsonby Cruising Club, tucked under the harbour bridge, it has some of the best views, and cheapest drinks, in town.

Think part Met Gala, part Year 13 Ball, you're encouraged to go as deep as you can on the dress up front and do your best to compete for the King & Queen of the Prom prizes up for grabs.

Ticket price includes a grazing dinner, and oh so much dancing with a great lineup delivering tunes spanning genres & years, all with the same fun vibe to keep you dancing from early doors.

Miss Mixtape.

Born from the mosh pits of a legacy of rock concerts and the irreverent paddock of Kiwiburn, miss mixtape donned her best rock n roll gumboots and sparked up her disco inferno to bring a wide spectrum of musical influence to the dance floor. Dipping into the 70s, 80s, 90s, and the noughties, she's developed a unique style, spinning a fusion of rock classics and dirty disco fused together with sultry house, just like your favourite mixtape from days gone by.

UGH, the Taco Guy.

Murray Piha head honcho Matt May, aka UGH, The Taco Guy will be sure to be lurking about with a crate of groove goodies setting the scene, Ugh, the Taco guy will have you hungry for more dancefloor action.

Sweetpants & the Shoulder Rubs.

Murry Sweetpants teams up with percussionist Martin Marshall & Hamish Crocker on sax giving an already killer DJ set an extra serving of special, with a live element that takes the sound to a whole new level. Expect the fellas to bust out an array of stone-cold classics, a little bit of quality new stuff, and a large helping of funky good times. If it’s a party you want, it’s a party you’ll get.

The Loneliest Hunk.

Shrouded in mystery and dressed up in an enigma, this music originator loves making connections through music. The Loneliest Hunk blends the sounds of house, disco, indie dance and electronica to bring you music with joy, happiness and a bit of grunt. All the things to make you dance and smile, and it turns out September 23 is his birthday!
