Polyglot Conference Bologna 2026
About this Event
Polyglot Conference Bologna 2026
Join us for Polyglot Conference Bologna 2026, taking place from Wednesday 18 November to Friday 20 November 2026 in Bologna, Italy.
The Polyglot Conference brings together language learners, polyglots, educators, researchers, creators, and language enthusiasts from around the world. It is a place to meet people who love languages, share ideas, practise together, and celebrate linguistic and cultural diversity.
At the Polyglot Conference Bologna 2026, you can look forward to:
- One full day of social activities, language practice, games, quizzes, and time to meet other participants.
- Two days of presentations on languages, language learning, multilingualism, culture, identity, and related topics.
- Workshops and interactive sessions where you can learn with other participants and try out new ideas.
- Language exchanges and organised language chats throughout the conference, giving you regular opportunities to use your languages in a friendly and supportive setting.
- Opportunities to connect with an international community of language learners, speakers, teachers, creators, and researchers.
- Games, quizzes, and partner activities where you can test your language knowledge and enjoy the community atmosphere.
- Time to experience Bologna, its culture, food, history, and local linguistic heritage.
- Dedicated social space where you can meet other attendees, practise languages and continue conversations between sessions.
- A live feed from the main presentation room into the second room, where possible. This will allow you to follow the talks while still enjoying a more relaxed and social atmosphere.
The Polyglot Conference is built around people. You do not need to speak many languages to attend. You simply need an interest in languages and a willingness to take part respectfully in the community.
Bologna is a city with a rich cultural and linguistic history, and we are pleased to bring the Polyglot Conference there in 2026. As always, we aim to celebrate not only international languages, but also local and regional languages, minority languages, indigenous languages, heritage languages, and the people who use and support them.
Secure your ticket for Polyglot Conference Bologna 2026 and join a global community united by a love of languages.
Additional paid options may also be available around the conference, including language courses, social activities, cultural visits, or other special events. These will be announced separately once confirmed.

The Polyglot Conference is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all participants. We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or behaviour that makes other participants feel unsafe or unwelcome.
Our participants come from many countries, cultures, backgrounds, professions, and language communities. We value that diversity. We ask all participants to treat each other with respect, patience, and care.
This applies at the conference venue, during official activities, during related social events, and in online spaces connected to the Polyglot Conference.
Our values
We value every person who takes part in the Polyglot Conference.
We are proud that the conference brings together people with different languages, experiences, perspectives, and ways of learning. This diversity is reflected in the presentations, workshops, social activities, and conversations that happen throughout the event.
We want the Polyglot Conference to be a place where people can:
- share their love of languages
- support each other’s language learning
- speak about language and culture with respect
- learn from different communities and traditions
- promote and appreciate lesser-used, minority, indigenous, heritage, and regional languages
- make new connections in a friendly setting
Our expectations
We expect all participants to contribute positively to the event.
This includes:
- Supporting other language learners and speakers.
- Recognising that everyone has different language levels, methods, and goals.
- Speaking to others respectfully, both in person and online.

Photography, filming, and public materials
By taking part in the Polyglot Conference, you understand that photos, videos, screenshots, recordings, or written comments from the event may be used in public materials connected to the conference.
The Polyglot Conference will not intentionally publish the full names and photos of individual participants together unless those details have been provided voluntarily for publication.
Images may be used as general event photos without names or tags attached.
You also agree not to tag, identify, photograph, film, or record other participants in a way that breaches their privacy or consent.
Flags, Language Names and Symbols
The Polyglot Conference celebrates our shared love of languages first and foremost.
Instead of using national flags on attendee name badges, we ask you to write the name of each language in the language itself, such as español, français, italiano and English.
A language cannot always be represented by a single national flag. Some languages are spoken across several countries, while others belong to regional, minority, indigenous or heritage communities without one clear national symbol.
The official flags displayed at the conference will be those of our host location: Bologna and Italy. These should remain the focus of official photographs and conference materials.
Please do not display additional national, political or group flags or symbols prominently in conference spaces or official group photographs. This helps us keep the focus on languages, our community and our host city.
Travel responsibility
By travelling to Bologna, Italy, you are responsible for making the necessary arrangements for your trip.
This includes:
- checking passport and visa requirements
- arranging suitable travel insurance
- checking health, safety, and travel advice from your own government
- making sure you have the financial means and documents needed for your stay
- following Italian laws and local rules during your visit
Travel rules and local regulations may change. The Polyglot Conference will follow the guidance and requirements set by local authorities in Italy.
