June 17 - 23rd is National Pollinator Week! To celebrate, we'll be hosting a BioBlitz in Middle Georgia tracking native plants and the pollinators that use them. To participate, you'll need to follow 3 steps:
1. Create an account on iNaturalist and add the app to your phone (https://www.inaturalist.org/).
2. Join our 2024 Fringed Campion Chapter of GNPS Pollinator Week BioBlitz project (https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/2024-fringed-campion-chapter-of-gnps-pollinator-week-bioblitz)
3. Make as many observations of native plants and pollinators in Georgia as possible! (https://www.inaturalist.org/pages/video+tutorials#add_mob)
As part of the celebration, we'll be hosting a special BioBlitz meetup at at Amerson River Park. We'll meet at the Native Plant Garden at Amerson at 10AM for a brief workshop on how to use iNaturalist to log your observations in for the BioBlitz, and then explore the garden and park to identify as many native plants and pollinators as possible!
Be sure to bring a fully charged phone, water, and comfortable walking shoes!
