Pollinator Walk
About this Event
Join Friends of Rouge Park and Stefanie Steele, Pollinator Conservation Specialist from the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation to learn about all the fascinating bees and other beneficial insects that pollinate the plants in Rouge Park's 70 acre restored prairie. Walk a portion of the beautiful 1.25 mile prairie pathway and be surrounded by blooming wildflowers and the buzz of an active ecosystem.
Family friendly event. Children welcome with guardian!
Accesibility information: We will be walking at a slow pace on level but possibly uneven ground. There are no steps on the trail. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and long pants with covered shoes. Since we will be in the prairie, there isn't much shade and there may be mosquitos, ticks and poison ivy. You might consider wearing sunscreen/sunhat and mosquito repellent. The closest bathroom is about a 10 minute walk or 0.5 mile drive away from the site. Free street parking available onsite.
