Polish History Day at The Foundry – Cleveland's Community Rowing and Sailing Center 📅 Date: September 29, 2024

Join us for a unique and educational event celebrating Polish history and culture! Hosted by the Polish American Cultural Center JPII, this special day at The Foundry will include a variety of activities for all ages, including a free introductory rowing lesson. Certified coaches will guide participants through the basics of rowing using the Erg exercise machine, followed by instruction on fundamental techniques in The Foundry’s indoor rowing tank.
🔹 Important Notes:
- All lessons are on land – no water activities.
- Dress in comfortable, athletic clothing and tennis shoes.

In addition to rowing, meet Polish Olympian Wieslaw Kudja, an esteemed rowing coach and athlete from the 1980 Olympics. The event will also feature history presentations and displays by local organizations, including the Cleveland Metroparks, Slavic Village Development, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and the Slavic Village Historical Society.
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore Cleveland’s rich Polish heritage, as The Foundry is located on the historic site of St. Mary’s on the Flats Church, the city’s first Catholic Church.
