Policy to Impact Workshop and Funding Opportunity

Utilising research, evidence and academic expertise are vital to effect policy change that ensures societal benefits. Such endeavours can also boost the impact of the underlying research by showcasing change in the real world. However, it can be difficult to know where to begin and difficult to understand appropriate methods of influence policy-makers.

To address this, the Policy Support Fund (PSF) and Impact Acceleration Accounts (IAA) are seeking to boost confidence and knowledge around how to translate your research to policy by hosting a 3-session workshop series for any academics who are hoping to undertake policy-based projects related to their research.

Through this three-session workshop series attendees will be guided and supported to build a prospective policy-impact project based on their research. In the final session attendees will be encouraged to pitch their policy project idea to a panel. The best pitched project ideas will be awarded up to £10k funding to undertake their proposals. Any unsuccessful pitches will be given feedback and pointed towards any relevant future funding opportunities.

- Any discipline is welcome.

- Project proposals can aim at influencing UK government legislation, local/devolved governments, regulatory bodies, international organisations or policy within specific organisations.

- If you have previously reived funding for policy-focused activities then you will not be eligible for this funding opportunity.

- Sessions will be in person. Please make sure you can attend all three sessions to qualify for the funding opportunity.

The dates of the workshops are as follows:

Session 1 – 15:00-17:00, 18th March 2026

Session 2 – 15:00-19:00, 25th March 2026

Session 3 – Times to be arranged for 1st April 2026
