Join us for a hands-on workshop that transforms instant film into a site of touch, chemistry, and chance!
About this Event

In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the tactile process of Polaroid developer drawings. This is a camera-less technique that transforms instant film into a site of touch, chemistry, and chance. By working directly with the emulsion, we’ll manipulate the film’s surface and create one of a kind images that are ever changing due to exposure to light and environmental factors. Through this approach, there is a constant dialogue between intention and accident.

About the facilitator:

Olivia Overton is a Toronto-based photographer originally from North Carolina. Her work primarily explores portraiture through film and alternative processes. She seeks to create in ways that are deeply personal yet universally relatable. Her work has been recently exhibited at She Said Gallery in Roncesvalles and featured in the 2025 Experimental Photography Festival in Barcelona, Spain. Through her lens, Overton attempts to tell a visual story of intimacy and inquiry.
