London’s award-winning literary salon makes a welcome return to Brighton. Inspired by the gay slang of the same name, Polari is a celebration of LGBTQ+ words and voices – on the page and on the stage. They also run The Polari Prize book awards for LGBTQ+ writing.
Tonight your host, and Polari founder, Paul Burston will be reading from his acclaimed memoir We Can Be Heroes : A Survivor’s Story.
He’ll be joined by T.S Eliot Prize and Polari Prize winner Joelle Taylor, with an extract from her wonderful new book, The Night Alphabet.
Author and theatre maker Neil Bartlett reads from his dazzling novel The Disappearance Boy, which is set at the Grand Theatre, Brighton in 1953.
Plus more TBC.
