SATURDAY, January 4th - the 1st Saturday of the Year
Join San Diego Triton Ruck Club and Team RWB San Diego as we TAKE FLIGHT in January!
Join us for a brisk POLAR PLUNGE (totally optional, but oddly awesome) followed by a six mile beach ruck, walk, or run. Saturday, 4 January, stepping off (or plunging in?) at 0700. Again, the Plunge is totally optional. Come on down, take a plunge, or just enjoy the views, then TAKE FLIGHT and join in on the ruck, walk, or run six miles (3 up, 3 back) South Mission Beach.
MEET:
Saturday, January 4th at 0700
WHERE:
South Mission Beach Parking Lot
339 N Jetty Rd, San Diego, CA 92109
Why polar plunge?
Because there’s a patch, of course.
This ruck is scalable, as weight is optional to your training level. You can choose to do the plunge and/or do the ruck - at any mileage you prefer. We will ruck as a team, but if you want to do more, or less, miles - you're welcome.
We will be rucking on the beach, on sand. GREAT training opportunity if you're doing PATHFINDER Ruck Training and want to complete one of your qualifying challenges: a 6 Mile Beach Ruck.
Important:
• Hydration! Don't leave home without water!

ABOUT RUCKING:
"What is rucking?" https://www.goruck.com/rucking-101
RUCKING 101
RUCK•ING [VERB] // Walking with a weighted rucksack (aka backpack). It implies action, energy, and purpose. Rucking requires strength, endurance, and character -- and builds it, too.
________________________________
ALL RUCKERS ARE VOLUNTEERS:
Attending this ruck is FREE of change - and you attend at YOUR OWN FREE WILL. YOU are responsible for YOUR SAFETY and health situation.
WAIVER: (The Fine Print!)
I agree that I am a voluntary member of a Ruck Club (“the Club”), and I acknowledge that participating in and volunteering for organized group exercise, rucking, physical training, social events, and races with the Club are potentially hazardous activities, which could cause injury or death. I will not participate in any Club organized events, group training or social events, unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform all activities associated with the Club, am in good health, and am properly trained.
I acknowledge that the Club is affiliated with, but not a representative or agent of GORUCK Holdings, LLC, nor any of its subsidiaries, officers, representatives or successors (collectively, “GORUCK”). I agree to abide by all rules established by the Club and Club leader, including the right of the Club leader to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the Club and agree to abide by them. I understand and agree that I assume all known and unknown risks associated with being a member of the Club and participating in Club activities which may include: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, trails, and surroundings, all such risks being known and appreciated by me.
Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my membership, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, fully and forever waive and release the Club, club leaders, GORUCK, and other club sponsors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation with the Club, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I will not initiate any claim, lawsuit, court action, or other legal proceeding against GORUCK, nor join or assist in the prosecution of any claim which anyone may have in connection with my participation in the Club, and I waive any right I may have to do so. This means that I cannot sue to hold GORUCK responsible for any injury, loss, or damage sustained by me or other parties in connection with the Club. I also waive my insurers’ right to make a claim against GORUCK based on payments by insurers to me or on my behalf for any reason.
YOUR ATTENDANCE ACKNOWLEDGES THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD ALL OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS WAIVER AND THAT YOU ARE VOLUNTARILY GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE.
'Cause there's not one here to sue! You-do-you, kiddo!

ABOUT THE SAN DIEGO TRITON RUCK CLUB:
Triton Ruck Club was founded on the UC San Diego campus in early 2019 and became an official GORUCK club in April 2019. We merged with San Diego Rucking Club to become San Diego Triton Ruck Club in Fall 2020. We are the official ruck training partner of Team RWB San Diego and actively partner to host and ruck events all over San Diego County and Southern California. There are no dues, and you do not need to be a veteran, nor a part of the UC San Diego community to join. In 2022, our Northern California chapter formed in the San Jose region, led by a fierce set of experienced GRT.
Our rucking members range from beginners to elite endurance athletes training and executing Tier 1 rucking events. We support everyone and ALL LEVELS. We welcome ALL LEVELS and have a “you-do-you” policy regarding what gear you use and how much weight you ruck. Each person makes their own responsible choices to determine the ruck and weight appropriate for their training levels. No specific brands are required, but your experienced teammates will have recommendations and guidance.
MISSION:
San Diego Triton Ruck Club is an ALL LEVELS community of ruckers united in fitness through ruck training and rucking. As a community, we are committed to supporting endeavors benefitting local military and first responder families through charitable events and engagement.
• ALL MEMBERS are welcome to call for a ruck or a workout. Set out a call here as you’ve already got a captive audience who has similar interests with you!!
• Don’t be intimidated or think SDTRC events are inclusive or limited to the UC San Diego area. Members live all over the San Diego County and SoCal. Someone is always up for a ruck or a workout! Feel free to post your meet-up plans area wide!
• There are no club fees, or initiations. All are welcome, all the time. Any required or suggested event details will be posted in advance.
• Each person carries the ruck and weight with which they are most comfortable.
• Questions always welcome!!! Via fb messenger or email: [email protected]
• Check out our "private" group for more local rucking chat: https://www.facebook.com/groups/tritonruckclub/
