Pokemon GO League Cup at GameMasters GuildDate: Thursday, May 28
Entry Fee: $10.00 per player (includes sales tax)
Registration Period: 3:00pm - 5:45pm
Tournament Start Time: 6:00pm
Tournament Format: Best-of-3 games, swiss rounds, single-elimination top cut
Team Format: Great League (1500 CP max per pokemon)
Prizes: Pokemon prize packs, as detailed below
This event is limited to 24 participants.
All players must be paid in and turn in their team list before the end of the registration period, which is 15 minutes prior to tournament start. You may be marked as late if this is not complete. They must be legible, so typed lists are preferred. Full team checks may be performed before, during, or after the event. You can download a blank copy of the team list at https://www.pokemon.com/static-assets/content-assets/cms2/pdf/play-pokemon/rules/pokemon-go-team-list-2024-en.pdf
All participants, regardless of age, will compete in the same division. Players under 13 must use a Niantic Kids account. This event is expected to last up to three hours, depending on number of entrants. Players must bring their own equipment (a phone for GO, a plug and cord for charging, etc) and are responsible for keeping the device in working conditions throughout the event. It is highly recommended to use screen recording during tournament matches in order for the judge to make appropriate rulings.
Players will submit a team list of up to 6 pokemon (these pokemon must be tagged to be easily identified). You can have more than one best buddy pokemon on your team but only one can benefit from the CP boost (this pokemon must be clearly marked on your team list). You can only have 1 of each pokemon on your team (for example, if you have raichu, you cannot also have alolan raichu). Pokemon GO players at League must not use any banned pokemon or attacks, as listed at this link. https://www.pokemon.com/us/play-pokemon/about/play-pokemon-pokemon-go-championship-series-banned-pokemon-list
Regular rounds are best-of-3 games. Final rounds are best-of-5. Each round players will get to review their opponents team list (for up to 3 minutes) before choosing 3 of their Pokemon to battle that round. Rounds are swiss, with a single-elimination top cut; total rounds depending on total number of participants.
All players that complete the event will receive a Pokemon League Prize Pack. Top Cut placers will receive store credit, dependent on total number of entrants. Players that have opted into Pokemon Premier events will also receive 2026 Championship Points based on their placement after final standings.
If you have any questions, please ask Ms. Val or any of our League Professors, and we will help.
