ALL ARE WELCOME to an evening of utopian films from East Africa. After a few films and drinks, we will chat with the daring afrofuturist filmmaker and storyteller Patience Nitumwesiga and queer feminist, activist and producer Rosie Motene of South Africa.
We'll then pop the bubbly and launch a grassroots crowdfunding campaign to support their upcoming documentary in production, The Woman Who Poked The Leopard, which explores the personal life and resistance of fierce former political prisoner Dr. Stella Nyanzi, a raging one-woman army against Uganda's dictator of 36 years, Yoweri Museveni.
