POINT OF NO RETURN Cie Pazar

Als point of no return wird der Moment bezeichnet, der das gesamte Leben schlagartig verändert. Es gibt kein Zurück, sondern nurmehr die Möglichkeit zur Veränderung, selbstbestimmt oder durch äußere Einflüsse. Was kennzeichnet den Beginn dieses transformativen Moments und wann endet er? Eine performative Annäherung an den Moment, der alles ändert, der bedeutet, sein altes Ich loszulassen, aber auch um ein zukünftiges Leben zu trauern, das so nicht mehr existiert.
Als kraftvolle Bewegungssprache des Widerstands verschmilzt Waacking inhaltlich mit der Suche der Tänzer*innen nach dem „davor“ und „danach“ des point of no returns. Die ästhetisch präzise und mitreißende Waacking-Performance balanciert auf dem schmalen Grad, einerseits einer marginalisierten Clubkultur gerecht zu werden und diese zugleich in die Zukunft und neue Räume zu transformieren.

The 'point of no return' is the moment that changes one's entire life abruptly. Once this point has been reached, there is no going back; only the possibility of change, whether self-determined or driven by external influences. But what marks the beginning of this transformative moment, and when does it end? This performative exploration is about letting go of one’s old self and mourning a future life that will never be the same again.
As a powerful language of movement and resistance, Waacking thematically aligns with the dancers’ exploration of the 'before' and 'after' of the point of no return. This aesthetically precise and captivating Waacking performance treads the fine line between doing justice to marginalised club culture and transforming it for the future in new spaces.
