ABOUT THE POETS

Tatiana Johnson-Boria (she/her) is the author of Nocturne in Joy (2023). She’s an educator, artist, and facilitator who uses her writing practice to dismantle racism, reckon with trauma, and to cultivate healing. She’s an award-winning writer who’s received distinguished fellowships from Tin House, The Massachusetts Cultural Council, The MacDowell Residency, and others. Tatiana completed her MFA in Creative Writing at Emerson College and teaches at Emerson College, GrubStreet, and others. Find her work in or forthcoming at The Academy of American Poets, Ploughshares, Kenyon Review, among others. She’s represented by Lauren Scovel at Laura Gross Literary.

Sarah Kersey (she/they) is a poet and x-ray technologist originally from New Jersey. Her debut chapbook is forthcoming from Newfound in 2024. In 2021, they were a finalist for the PEN America Emerging Voices Fellowship. They have also received support from Tin House Workshop. Sarah tweets @sk__poet.

Matthew E. Henry (he/him) is the author of six collections, including Teaching While Black, the Colored page, and most recently, said the Frog to the scorpion. He is editor-in-chief of The Weight Journal and an associate poetry editor at Rise Up Review. MEH’s awards include the 2023 Solstice Literary Magazine Stephen Dunn Prize, as well as multiples Pushcart and Best of the Net Nominations. His poetry appears in The Florida Review, Massachusetts Review, Ninth Letter, Pangyrus, Ploughshares, Shenandoah, Terrain, and The Worcester Review among others.
