Poets Mary Simmons, author of the newly released Mother, Daughter, Augur and Olivia Mirmohamed will read at Mac's Backs on Wednesday, November 12th at 7 pm followed by an open mic.Mary Simmons is a queer poet from Cleveland, Ohio. She earned her MFA from Bowling Green State University, where she also served as the managing editor for Mid-American Review. Her work has appeared in The Baltimore Review, ONE ART, trampset, Moon City Review, Variant Lit, The Shore, and elsewhere. She lives with her cat, Suki, at the edge of the woods.
Olivia Mirmohamed is a poet from Newark, Ohio. She is working towards an MFA through the Northeast Ohio MFA program. In her poems she explores themes of dreams, visions, sleeping vs. waking and the effects of medication. She lives in Kent and teaches creative writing at Kent State University.
