About this Event
Led by Sonia of Newham Poetry Group, this session invites participants to create poems that map their personal journeys across East London, its streets, memories, meeting points, and everyday moments of queerness. Through creative prompts rooted in place, identity, and belonging, we will explore what it means to live, love, and grow as LGBTQ+ people in East London.
Some of the poems will be selected for the community time capsule, becoming a future reminder of how queer lives shaped this borough in 2026: our hopes, our challenges, our joys, and the traces of ourselves we leave in the places we call home.
