About this Event
This 3-session workshop will give writers a chance to share their work and receive constructive feedback within a welcoming, supportive community. Open to poets & writers 18+. Our goal is to feel heard and inspired as we dig into the craft of poetry together. Let’s celebrate and refine our work!
Poems and short fiction on any subject are welcome at this workshop. While you do not have to open up your work to feedback, or comment on other writers’ work, we do encourage you to participate to the level you feel comfortable. Each session will also begin with prompted silent writing time and end with a reflection of what we gained through constructive feedback.
Suggested donation of $5-$20/session; no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Come for one, two, or all three sessions; you are more than welcome to show up in alignment with your desire and capacity, whatever that looks like!
Facilitator Bio: Holly Sinclair earned an MFA in poetry at Arizona State University before moving to St. Louis about 12 years ago. She taught literature and writing to high school and college kids for several years, and then changed careers to become a full-time copywriter. Holly has previously led writing workshops in classrooms and at public libraries, and she loves the discoveries writers make as they share and receive constructive feedback. As a workshop facilitator, Holly hopes to create a welcoming, productive space where writers can explore what it means to be a poet, refine their work, and maybe experience a creative breakthrough or two! Holly’s poetry and creative essays have appeared in Burnside Review, Wild Roof Journal, The Nervous Breakdown, and maximummiddleage.com. She briefly co-edited an online journal called Wood Cat Review. Holly also published her first chapbook with Red Flag Poetry Press in April. When she’s not writing for work or for fun, Holly loves to walk her dog, Tippi, and explore St. Louis.
