Join us for an afternoon of poetry with authors Cathryn Essinger, Paula J. Lambert, and Barbara Sabol.
Cathryn Essinger is the author of six books of poetry--most recently The Apricot and theMoon and Wings, Or Does the Caterpillar Dream of Flight?, both from Dos Madres Press.Her newest book, Telling the Bees, will be published by Sheila-Na-Gig early next year. Herpoems have appeared in Poetry, The Southern Review, The New England Review, Ecotone,Terrain.org, Rattle, River Styx, and other journals. They have been nominated forPushcarts and Best of the Net, featured on The Writer's Almanac, and reprinted inAmerican Life in Poetry. She lives in Troy, Ohio where she raises butterflies.
Paula J. Lambert has published ten collections of poetry including As If This Did Not Happen Every Day (Sheila-Na-Gig 2024) and Sinkhole (Bottlecap 2025). Also a visual artist and literary translator, her work has been recognized by PEN America and supported by the Ohio Arts Council, Greater Columbus Arts Council, and Virginia Center for Creative Arts. Barbara Sabol’s most recent collection is Mapping the Borderlands (Sheila-Na-Gig Editions, 2025). She was named co-Ohio Poet of the Year for her book WATERMARK (Alternating Current Press, 2023). Barbara conducts workshops for Lit Cleveland. She lives in Akron, OH, close to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, whose trails she knows by heart.
