Introducing: Tongue and Groove Poetry Cabaret
Tuesday September 29th, 7.30pm. Poetry workshop 6.30pm
Join us for the first night of our exciting 3 month season of poetry entertainment, with open mic slots, feature poet Emma Purshouse, the Dead Good Dead Poet slot, and our guest musician. Also do come along to our free 40 minute poetry workshop starting at 6.30pm with Emma.
Emma Purshouse was the first Poet Laureate for the City of Wolverhampton and performs regularly at spoken word nights and festivals (Shambala, Nomad, Latitude, Edinburgh Fringe etc) far and wide, sometimes using her native Black Country dialect. She has won the ‘Making Waves’ international spoken word competition, and the Rubery Book award for poetry in 2016.
Her latest collection is called ‘It’s Honorary, Bab’ (Offa’s Press)

Tongue and Groove Poetry Cabaret is a 3 month season of exciting poetry evenings. Each night includes: a top guest poet, an Open Mic for your own original poems, plus favourite classic poems and poems not in English. And a free 40 minute poetry workshop. Open Mic sign-ups on the door.
