Join Alameda Education Foundation and Books Inc in celebrating National Poetry Month.

Featuring : Poet Shanti Lair-Croom

She will be joined by elementary, middle and high school students in reading works that they have created. Shanti will read Living Poetically, a poem that she wrote for AEF’s Art Changes Program.

In this poem, Shanti describes how writing has the power to shape the narratives that we want to create for ourselves. Students will tell their own stories, pinpointing what they value and how they see the world. You’ll be entertained; you’ll discover new perspectives.
