About this Event
Melanie has an ear for poetry and a heart for people. Her feedback is curious, probing, and creativity-provoking . . . She will inspire you.
—Rosalind Hughes, Episcopal priest and author, A Family Like Mine: Biblical Stories of Love, Loss, and Longing, and Whom Shall I Fear? Urgent Questions for Christians in an Age of Violence, Euclid, Ohio
Join published poet and MFA graduate for Poetry Roam: a Craft and Generative Poetry Lounge. These virtual gatherings provide an opportunity not only to dally in the magic of verse, but also to draft new poems. These lounges are open to all poetry levels, including beginner.
Each Poetry Roam session will focus on a different craft element. Melanie will define that week's craft element, and offer example poems for exploration. There will then be ample time to freewrite, with an optional prompt provided. Each Poetry Roam concludes with debriefing and sharing to each person's comfort level.
This autumn's Poetry Roams will happen on select Fridays from 2:30pm-3:45pm Eastern. The schedule for the entire autumn session is below. You can pay for individual sessions, or buy a discounted series ticket, which covers all sessions. Fees are sliding scale.

September 13: metaphor
September 27: sound play
