Poetry Reading with Jason Gordy Walker

Please join us at the Canegie as we welcome Newnan ArtRez Artist-in-Reisdence, Jason Gordy Walker for a poetry reading. Registration is requested. Light refreshments will be served.

Jason Gordy Walker is a poet, prose writer, and translator who lives in Alabama. A recipient of scholarships from the New York State Summer Writers Institute and Poetry by the Sea: A Global Conference, his poems, reviews, and interviews have appeared or are forthcoming in Asymptote, Atlanta Review, Birmingham Poetry Review, Louisiana Literature, Nimrod International Journal, Poetry Northwest, Poetry South, The Southern Poetry Anthology, Vol. X: Alabama, and others. In 2022, he was the poetry director for Friendship Force International, a nonprofit founded in 1977 by President Jimmy Carter. He holds an MFA in Poetry from the University of Florida. Currently, he is working on his first poetry collection and translating poems from the Norwegian.
