Celebrate National Poetry Month with us at The Walk In for a night of words rhythm and community.
Join us on Wednesday April 23rd from 8:00–9:30 PM for an evening of live poetry readings featuring four local poets including our good friend Dr. Carrie McGath (Visiting Lecturer in the Department of English at UIC). Each poet will take the mic for a 15-minute set with a short intermission halfway through the night.
That’s not all—Lisa Marie Farver of Everyone’z Type will be on-site creating custom typewritten poems for guests and our friends at City Lit Books will host a pop-up bookshop inside the bar from 7:00–9:00 PM with a table full of poetry picks to browse and buy.
To top it off we’re serving up a special one-night-only cocktail menu inspired by the night’s vibe plus a curated modern jazz playlist to set the mood.
No cover no RSVP required—just swing by grab a drink and settle in. Seating is limited so we recommend arriving early to grab a spot.
