Michael Brosnan
Michael Brosnan is a poet and writer based in Exeter, New Hampshire. His most recent collection of poetry, Emu Blis, Bums Lie, Blue-ism, a finalist for the Wandering Aengus Book Award, was published in 2024 by Broadstone Books. He is the author of two previous collections — The Sovereignty of the Accidental (2018) and Adrift (2023). His poetry has appeared in numerous literary journals and has won awards from various arts organizations, including the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts. In 2024, he was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. He is also the author of Against the Current, a book on inner-city education, and writes often on issues related to school and learning.
Mike Nelson
Mike Nelson has been hanging around the poetry scene of Portsmouth and the Seacoast for over twenty years. He’s been participating in the Beat Night poetry and music event for 20 of its 25 years and hosting it for the last 10. Mike was 11th Poet Laureate of Portsmouth from April 2017 to April 2019 and Chair of the program from 2022 to 2024. Mike was on the board of the Poetry Society of New Hampshire for two years as the Editor-in-Chief of their Touchstone poetry journal. Mike got to be Grand Marshal of the Portsmouth Halloween Parade in 2024. Mike is the author of four books of poetry, a children's book and is the founder of Bee Monk Press, Hive Poetry Project and Space Bee Studio.
Samantha DeFlitch
Samantha DeFlitch is the author of Confluence (Broadstone Books, 2021). Her poems have appeared in New England Review, The Missouri Review, and Colorado Review, among others. She is a 2025 Artist in Residence at Acadia National Park. Her work has been supported by the Vermont Studio Center, the Bread Loaf Environmental Writers Conference, and the Audubon Artist Residency at Hog Island. She lives in Portsmouth.
