Float away on a brand new, world-expanding Poetry Nap voyage—The Enchanting Secret of the Opalescent Moon—with poetry and music woven into an immersive tale of whimsy, curiosity and adoration guided by us, Lady and Lord Dosis, time voyagers of the dream world.Delight in a cozy, celestial indoors nap under the visual marvels of the Chabot Space & Science Center’s full-dome Planetarium. Unlike other naps of the past, experience “Peek Moments” by opening your eyes on occasion to Chabot Planetarium’s visual wonders.
We promise you are in for an otherworldly treat! If you like, bring a pillow, blanket, and dress in pajamas or robes.
PLUS, upon waking from your dazzling dream, extend the cosmic exploration by peering through Chabot’s historic telescopes!

PLANETARIUM SEATING
All seating is general admission, first come, first serve. There are 3 different levels of recline in the Planetarium. The first 4 rows offer the most reclined seats; the next 3 rows, semi-reclined seats; and the back 3 rows, upright seats, all providing different, yet enjoyable experiences.
TIMING
7:15pm-8:00pm
Planetarium opens. Find your seat on a first come, first serve basis. Get comfortable. Get to know your neighbors.
8:00pm-9:30pm
Poetry Nap: The Enchanting Secret of the Opalescent Moon with no intermission
9:30pm-9:45pm
Slowly wake up and gather your things to exit Chabot Planetarium.
9:30pm-10:30pm
Exit Chabot Planetarium and head to the optional free, open-to-the-public Chabot telescope viewings at the Observation Deck (weather permitting)
WHAT TO BRING
Although they are quite comfortable as is, if you’d like more napping comfort in the theater chairs, bring a pillow, blanket, and wear cozy pajamas or a robe if you’re feeling chicy cheeky.
WHAT NOT TO BRING
No food or drink in the planetarium. In order to have a peaceful, uninterrupted adult nap, although we love them dearly, please no children.
PARKING
Convenient, free parking is available in the adjacent 3-level parking structure. Additional parking for special events is available on weekends in the Staff Lot (near the Observatory) or in the West Lot off Skyline Blvd.
Accessible parking is available near the main entrance to Chabot. Parking spaces for vehicles with disabled parking permits are located across from the parking structure – on the left coming up the driveway from Skyline Blvd. A drop-off area is also located in front of the main entrance.
REFUND POLICY
We would love to be able to, but all performance ticket sales are non-refundable. Thank you for your kind understanding. However, you may be able to resell your ticket on Tixel.
