Meet biweekly on the 2nd and 4th Thurs of each month in High Park to connect with your creative side and nature.
About this Event

This workshop is ideal for individuals of all ages who want to get outside, connect with nature and their authentic selves to create written pieces that reflect who they are and how they see the world. We will meet weekly in a different park across Toronto to:

  • Find inspiration and connection in nature
  • Build our creative stamina
  • Discover confidence and support in community
  • Reconnect with our authentic selves through open-hearted expression
  • Write some poems
  • Remember that we are human beings living in community with each other and nature

In addition to these aims, attendees will have access to an online Google Classroom community, which includes community resources, writing exercises, and discounts. The Google Classroom also provides a space for connection and collaboration. After you register, it is important to access the Google classroom portal for details and directions to the outdoor meet up place.

This workshop is in-person outdoors, but can easily be converted to online in the event of inclement weather. The weekly workshops will take place on Friday evenings at 6:00pm. Workshops are pay-what-you-can. You can pay here on Eventbrite or bring cash to the park on the day of the event.

Meet our Instructor: Lisa Pfau

The instructor will be Lisa Pfau, founder and CEO of PFAU. She has over 20 years’ experience helping students to improve their writing skills in academic, professional, and creative settings, including supporting clients' to share and publish their work. Although she spends a lot of her time in the academic and professinoal world coaching new writers, she believes that all writing requires creativity. She writes poems, reflections, short stories, and other musings, as well as academic essays and policy briefs. Her real passion is injecting creativity into generally boring submissions and presentations to engage the audience and tell a personal story that sticks. She looks forward to sharing her experiences and expertise with you to help you to reach your full potential on the page and in life.
