Defy the approach of winter with an afternoon of FREE Poetry & Jazz at The Blue Owl in REO Town, 1149 S. Washington Ave. in Lansing on Sunday, Nov. 2, from 3-5 PM. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
The program will showcase the verbal pyrotechnics of Kim Griffin, Tari Muniz, and Cruz Villarreal, PLUS the very gifted jazz trio + one of Hank Horton on bass, Steve Talaga on keyboard, Larry Ochletree on drums, with an assist on vocals by Mike Eyia, the founder of Orquesta Ritmo.
The performance is sponsored by the renowned jazz composer & musician, Gregg Hill of Cold Plunge Records, in conjunction with Lansing Poet Laureate Ruelaine Stokes, whose work is made possible by the Arts Council of Greater Lansing, the Lansing Poetry Club, the RCAH Center for Poetry at MSU, and the Lansing Area Economic Partnership.
