Our guest artist Mymona Bibi is inviting us to use our bodies to explore the themes of home and memory. We will experiment together in Alphabetti’s theatre space through guided physical performance techniques, movement exploration, poetry, and creative writing. This workshop is entry level and can be adapted to any range of mobility. It is for people who have moved around, people new to the city or the UK, people who are interested in discussing social housing and housing inequality, and interrogating what we define as home or being from somewhere.
Meet our guest facilitator:
Mymona Bibi is a Bengali-British writer, creative facilitator and ESOL teacher based in Newcastle upon Tyne. She is interested in themes of multilingualism, cities, inequality and home. Her writing has been featured in the Ilkley Literature Festival, Magma Poetry, Butcher's Dog, Corridor8, Hajar Press and Lumpen Press. She has produced and performed at events such as the Newcastle Fringe Festival (2023 and 2025) and NOVUM (2023 and 2024). Currently, she is the lead artist of World Writes - a multilingual community writing group. She has supported the group through the production and design of a multilingual publication, multilingual audio voice note and a multi-sensory kantha quilt.
