Poetics of Care - 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 @ EADMT Conference VilniusWe invite you to join us on 𝟏𝟐𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, between 𝟏𝟕:𝟒𝟓 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟏𝟗:𝟎𝟎 to 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 - 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 within the 5th EADMT conference ”𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐕𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝” in Vilnius, Lituania .
📍The installation presentation will take place at the Vilnius University of Music, Theatre and Film.
This conference will focus on the need to make the dance therapy profession more visible, to clarify one of the therapeutic goals, encouraging human vitality, and ultimately, to create visions of dance therapy for the future in these difficult times.
🎬Consistent with the Conference's objectives, 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 is a performative work that explores the intersections between mental health and artistic expression, highlighting the influence of the environment and the frameworks through which we view one another.
"𝐼𝑓 𝑦𝑜𝑢 ℎ𝑎𝑑 𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑑 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑒𝑙𝑠𝑒'𝑠 𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑒, 𝑑𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑘 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑑 𝑤𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑦?"
Everything we experience throughout our lives shapes our psychological and biological structures. Each individual develops within a complex tapestry of stimuli and relationships, and the environment's capacity to support or stifle us, to feed us with fear or love, almost definitively charts our inner mechanisms.
𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 invites you to explore this profound question through a unique journey into the complexity of human experiences.
The installation is built as a space for reflection and mirroring around universal experiences, which can be both normal responses to the surrounding reality and pathological adaptations to difficult life experiences. The performers follow logics inspired by mental disorders, but the audience is invited to create their own itinerary on this complex journey.
Starting from interactions with psychiatric patients, 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑎𝑔𝑒𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑎𝑢𝑑𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑦𝑜𝑛𝑑 𝑙𝑎𝑏𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑚𝑜𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑒𝑚𝑝𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑦, 𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑔𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑧𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑓 𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑠. The work gives visibility to different types of fragility, emphasizing the vitality of these altered states of consciousness, their creative potential, and their relationship with the environment in which they occur.
💃The artists present, through dance, portray emotions and experiences identified during their residency in psychiatric hospitals among the observed patients.
𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅-𝒎𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 started in 2022 as a project initiated and organized by Indie Box, in partnership with NOPA - the Norwegian Society of Composers and Lyricists, Entuziart Association, and Profeti ART SRL.
During this 3 years, the installation was presented for one week each in Bucharest (Romania) and Asker (Norway), for three days in Timisoara (Romania), in Perugia(Italy), as well as at the Art Therapy Biennial, and now we are happy to be here with you in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The Entuziart& Areal& Indie Box teams were happy to respond to the call for presentations at the Conference, with a remarkable fit between the content of the Installation and the objectives of the academic event.
