Mo Ahmed is a singer, composer and percussionist born in Omdurman, Sudan. Since moving to the Netherlands, he has become the driving force behind his own group, Mo & Kush Band, blending the sounds of Sudan with Afrobeat, reggae and blues influences.
Their second album Asmar (released september 2025) marks an important new chapter. Recorded in Egypt with musicians from the Sudanese diaspora, it celebrates the deep musical heritage of Sudan. The songs are rooted in Sudanese traditionals, reimagined and rearranged by Mo Ahmed with fresh energy and a contemporary sound.
